Ode to Distance
it has been saidmore than any
object in a mirror
diorama or
telescopic star
the most beautiful thing ever seen
by a human eye
is the earth from outer space.
clearly whoever said that darling
did not go far enough
or live to see
you
walking right by
on a Tuesday
in Brooklyn
and pass that close to you
as if to be invisible.
